A Muslim Gift For Christmas

I'm speechless.

Yes. I received a special ecru-colored turban/”balabal” as a gift from my law school classmate, who is a devout Muslim, her name is Bai Ampatuan. The Ampatuan clan in Mindanao is a well-known and influential family in both local politics and Islam religion. As what I’ve heard, she belongs to a Muslim royal family. She had just arrived from Saudi Arabia after having her “Hajj” Pilgrimage during our Christmas break. And she bought the turban/”balabal” there after the said event.

Why a turban/”balabal”? I don’t know.

I saw it on my table just this afternoon. I was really surprised.
I just told her that I had the chance to go to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia together with my whole family but I wasn’t able to buy anything that will remind me of that tour/visit. Or maybe, she heard me telling one of my classmates that I really like Ed Lingao’s and Abner Mercado’s turban. Or she just thought of buying it for me to compensate for the tutorial sessions. Hehehe..

Anyway, THANK YOU VERY MUCH, BAI!!!

This special turban/"balabal" costs 65 Rials.
Just convert it to Philippine Peso.

Don't ask me to translate it.
It's enough that it's imported. Hehehe..

Thank you very much. I really appreciate it.
(I can’t say “God Bless!” because of an obvious reason. Hehehe..)

By the way, “Bai” in Muslim language means, “Princess”.
Nothing.
